Jumping for Joy

On a warm summer evening with a sky threatening to rain, I came across a group of children enjoying the simple pleasures of a dock, the bay and high tide. A break in the clouds on the horizon provided an interesting silhouette of a boy’s frolicking. I stopped and watched for about 30 minutes, trying to remember when the biggest care I had was how high I could jump.
