27) The above part of the survey will tell us which topics we should continue to cover. But what else would you like to see? What other topics should Delaware Beach Life Magazine cover?
  • I would like to see more out of the way, less known about places to visit.
  • As an about to be new resident of the Delaware Beach area, I find your choice of topics to be excellent. Don't know enough yet to suggest more.
  • I'd like to see more historical photos and profiles of long time businesses. Keep up the great work.
  • How about the average locals & their interesting experiences/stories, not just the movers & shakers? More on the quality of our swimming waters & how as a nation we tend to turn a blind eye. Your getting to many ads & advertisings- starting to look like Delaware Today. Please keep it to a minimum. Plus diversity of photographers, I trust others can take pictures besides the Flemings.
  • articles on fishing and boating
  • anything about lower,slower, Delaware.
  • You've covered just about everything
  • Why don't you feature short articles about the people who work at DBL. They are what makes this magazine so wonderful!
  • You are doing a great job. Love the calendar of events section, very helpful to plan trips. Really like everything about your magazine and am inquiring today to subscribe.
  • How about the status of road construction - not just where but how long is it projected to take - what is really happening with the Indian River Bridge; what is the status of the Rt 113 bypass, etc.
  • A regular Homes of the Stars article, showing houses of well-known people. Where are they now? Articles on well-known people from the area...ex. Delino DeShields.
  • Since I live in a local mobile home park, I would like to see an article on the different parks. I lve at Sussex East, which is lovely and affordable, but some parks have outrageous fees.....and how come it's all land rent here, but in Florida most mobile homes/lots are individually owned, even though there may be 300-700 lots in a park.
  • more about the different beaches in delaware. history of rehoboth beach, funland, and bethany beach. Jungle Jim's
  • I think that your selection of topics and articles is a very good mix. I don't expect to be extremely interested in every article that is printed, but even those articles that I'm not overly interested in I still scan through. I really enjoy reading stories about the history of coastal Delaware and like pictures when available. I have saved every magazine. My house guests love them.
  • Every issue covers several subjects I'm interested in. I would like to learn more about this area Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, Fenwick in the 40's, 50's, 60's, etc. Beach Life is a terrific magazine!!!
  • More photographs taken by amateur photographers.
  • I think objective restaurant reviews would be nice, or a ranking of best restaurants, but not just fluff pieces pandering to your advertisers. More like Washingtonian does. You could even do like them--a top 25 list and a top 25 cheap eats. Maybe even do an occassional review in MD--my son is a chef at Liquid Assets in OC, a terrific restaurant. Bethany resident Nino Mancari now owns Solara in the Atlantic Hotel in Berlin--fabulous food. How about a feature article comparing the country clubs and public golf courses? Information about how and where people whose homes aren't on the bay can go clamming (and rent the equipment) or boating. You could do a monthly "ranking" article--ranking the miniature golf courses, the fish stores, the bakeries, the wine stores. They don't have to be a top ten thing--more like a survey and comparison of what's good. How do you find a good handyman, electrician, appliance repairer, plumber?
  • N/A
  • A short article on proposed or ongoing construction, etc., that affects travel in Delaware. We drive to Lewes from PA frequently, and it would be helpful to know about possible delays or detours.
  • A regular gardening feature written by someone who knows what actually grows here. We are learning the hard way what survives and what doesn't in the beach environment. Bushes/trees, vegtables, flowers, ground covers, etc. Also what to avoid at all costs.
  • you do such an amazing job I can't really give you any direction right now! We give the magazine subscriptions as gifts to our clients and they enjoy it for so many reasons.
  • I would like to here about the small business's in the area.
  • Love your magazine, and I don't even live in Delaware...yet!
  • 1. Consider using other photographers in addition to Kevin Fleming...I enjoy his work but how about others. 2. Interesting person to profile: Shorty who owns Shorty's woodworking shop on Rt. 1 in Bethany Beach. His shop is an outstanding place to visit and the man was a WWII skier spy; after the war he was an Olympic ice skater and then skated with Sonia Henny in the Ice Capades. What a man! 3. Profile: Lew Killmer who sits ont he Bethany Town Council; he was an outstanding Chemist and volunteer Chemistry teacher in his pre retirement life. Lives in Bethany Beach on Tortoise Street. 4. List all art galleries in Sussex on your calendar list including Millsboro Art League, 203 Main Street, Millsboro, DE 19960; phone: 302-934-6440. 5. Highlight local artists by their craft; waterclorist, sculpturer, photographer, jewelery maker, glass blower, etc. 6. Do a story on organic food which is becoming so big. 7. How about a story on where fish and seafood in our local markets come from and if the fish/seafood contains any toxics. What comes from China? Are stores indicating where fish comes from? Can you ask a store clerk and expect to get a credible answer? Delaware issued a recent warning about local fish. Perhaps that warning should be included in this kind of story too. 8. Family Reunion site at the Virden Center. What a deal. I am planning a very large reunion their for my Gallagher relatives and what a bargain it is to use this site. Our reunion will be held August 3-5, 2007. They have 23 rooms in their hotel. Since I am renting all rooms I get to use the rest of the campus FREE. No extra fees for use of the indoor rooms, and outdoor recreation sites. They cater breakfast and dinner and Lisa Doak, the Virden Center use coordinator is outstanding to deal with. 8. Beach weddings - they happen frequently, formally and informally. How to's would be good plus photos of several weddings. 9. My 90 year old mother lives with me; what services are available for her in Sussex County and specifically in the Bethany Beach area? 10. Golfing article to include list of local golf courses, fees, discounts for locals; local golf groups, etc. 11. Wild life tours on foot and on bike. 12. List of travel clubs and organizations in the area that offer international and local group travel. 13. Ann Hanna, local artist in Bethany Watercolor Society, would be another good person to profile. 14. Photography clubs and what they are doing; examples of their work. 15. As more and more retired people move to the area they need younger people to provide services. Perhaps you could do an article for them or about them. What do they do with their little children who live in neighborhoods with mainly retired people. I could give you names if you wanted them. I guess that's all I can think of right now. My pre-retirement boos used to say I was the company "idea" person. Feel free to contact me aggain if you want more ideas. Maureen Dyer Ickrath 302-541-0483 email: ickraths@aol.com
  • I think you are doing a pretty good job as it is.
  • We just love this magazine and look forward to getting it each month. I've even given it as a gift from time to time. Can't think of an area that you don already cover. Keep up the good work!!
  • Pictures and interviews of local and out of state beach goers. What they do and where they go at their stay at the beach.
  • Enjoy historical readings, stories relavent to daily life
  • It's great the way it is!
  • you pick the topics, so far, so good; always enjoy
  • Perhaps I've missed it, since I am a newcomer to Delaware Beach Life, but I would love to read all about the dolphins that entertain me every summer. Once I saw one jump and twist - what a thrill!
  • I bought 2 from the newsstand and now I just got my first subscription and I also and getting one for my sister. I enjoy everything and since it is so new to me, I need a little more time before I would be able to make an informed opinion on what should be added or deleted.
  • It should provide discussion of the diversity that is here... families, gay and lesbian, immigrant populations.. the wonder of co-existence and the problems. It should reach out to the local population (people born and raised here). It should address the developement issues and including infastruction to help those of us who live here deal with the influx of vacationers... could be a growth market population for your magazine...
  • Any story dealing with a individual (which are many) in graduating from Cape and returning after college to reside back in their hometown. Hope that makes sense.
  • in the summer months I would like to see a "vacationer's view" why Rehoboboth, Lewes, Bethany, etc. where do you eat, where do you stay, what is your favorite part of the trip, where do you come from, etc.
  • Why should remain as it aoways is
  • Bicycling areas and rules (Rehoboth!!)
  • You're great, it makes me miss home that much more!T
  • very comprehensive with good variety and quality - keep up the good work!
  • Employment opportunities
  • This is the first issue I have seen and really like the magazine the way it is. I will subscribe!
  • Transportation issues
  • story on broadkill beach
  • You only covered the Bethany Beach cottage tour and you should also cover the Rehoboth Art League tour. I just retired as chair and know how important advertising is to these events. Lewes would also appreciate advertising, I am sure.
  • I like it the way it is
  • I love the magazine as it is and would not add a thing to it!!
  • I like interesting people articles... like a fisherman, or a farmer, or a chicken hauler,or the man that makes the really large lawn ornaments on rt. 24.
  • Sports events like the SeaStriders or cycling rides such as the long rides through the shore. Would like to hear about the greenway trails and how to find them in the area.
  • I'd like to see a monthly feature (photo plus historical background) telling how it was in the Lewes/Rehoboth/Bethany/Dewey area 20 years ago, 25 years ago, 30 years ago, etc.
  • Bike paths, fishing
  • can you get address labels that come off easier, I love the covers of Delaware Beach Life and have considered framing them. However, when I try to take the address label off there is always white, sticky residue left no matter how slowly and carefully I try to remove it.
  • 1. Sign Language Bank at Beebe Medical Center. 2. Recipes from restaurants or a profile of someone who makes them (Captain's Table chicken and dumplings, or flashback recipes from restaurants no longer there - Avenue Restaurant crab dishes, The Crab Pot appetizers, Sea Horse crab imperial). 3. Volunteerism - profiles and opportunities. 4. Demographics now as a result of the area's growth. 5. Leading industry besides tourism/hospitality. 6. Growth predictions for the next decade. 7. Evacuation routes. 8. This past summer, it seemed there were fewer visitors. Why - increased ownership and fewer rentals, or economy and gas prices? 9. The advertizing planes - annoyance or accepted as part of the culture? Should the advertizers, especially the national ones, find a greener way to attract customers? 10. Are there planes anymore to spray for mosquitoes? I remember them decades ago, but don't see them anymore. Why?
  • The boom in retirees moving into the area.
  • I think you should feature a beach house each issue. You may do ours if you want. 16846 N. Hunters Run, East side of Village of 5 points, on corner w/wrap around porch, pond in back, Helen Flood 302-674-2567
  • an artcle on whats going to be done with the money for the new fishing fee in 08.We need the CHSP pier fixed. I think that should be a priority.
  • Do a Look Back Story on the bars and night clubs that were here in the 50's, 60's and 70's. Such as the Pink Pony, The Shaker, Bottle & Cork, Boat House and the Horse & Buggy. Also, the Doo Drop Inn and Wayside Inn. There were more. These are the ones I remember in the Rehoboth Beach area.
  • You have a great magazine!
  • no other topics ay this time.
  • More photos on local history both maritime and towns. Sportsman issues such as hunting and fishing and law changes pertaing to resident and non-resident.
  • Articles on neighborhoods. Info on ocean science and nature local authors - not just artists restaurant reviews would be great Beach areas - coin beach, inlet area like last issue - Articles on fishing???
  • I think you cover about everything! Keep up the strong emphasis on the environment. It will inspire your readers to take care of our shores.
  • I would like to see more articles about marine life
  • With all the newcomers to shore living, who are these people? Profiles in new "locals" that help us understand why they are here? What are they expecting from the "old timers"? Are they bringing in the big city style or just retiring and letting it be?
  • More stories on the local issues like the bridge, Ruddertown transformation. Newsy items. Continue to do stories like the one on Milton and Millville. These are the most interesting and we definitely want to know more about the little towns and things to see in the area.
  • nice, comfortable homes that may not be showcases - those of "ordinary" people; why do newcomers move to the beach and how do they get more involved locally
  • It would be great to see some more "local jewels" which are lesser known spots of interest in the area.
  • You have most bases covered.
  • Maybe I just have not seen it, but perhaps a schedule of events at Cape Henlopen and more information in general about the cape and the state park.
  • reviews of entertainment, like a phantom diner who reviews shows at convention center and music at local clubs in addition to restaurant reviews
  • If I could think of something interesting, i would write the story and send it to you - you do just fine without my input
  • Ocasional stories about other towns in Central and Western Sussex
  • How about a Homes of the Stars story, with occasional pix of homes of famous people in the area...does not have to include personal info...
  • Could include more articles and advertisers on fishing and boating since that is so popular on the De. coast. The history of these areas are very interesting as well as your photos and articles on marine life and water birds/fowl. Definitely fishing is what you are missing! Much more popular year round then art and poetry!!
  • Stories about the lifeguards from the variety of beaches. Remember the State Park guards! These young men and women deserve more attention and kudos!
  • I understand you called the Rehoboth Art League and asked that I call you. I tried. No success. It probably was about the Rehoboth Art League Cottage Tour. I just sent in my subscription request. Keep up the good work.
  • too much Kevin Fleming try Patrick O'Brien pobphoto.com and others
  • i leave that to you!
  • A swap section (like in Yankee magazine) where you can either sell stuff or swap something you have for something someone else has. Maybe a picture of some obscure object that people can identify to get a free subscription. A small column from someone who vists but doesn't live there. Their column could mention interesting places to visit/things to do when you are only at the beach for a day or two. Have a page where some local shop (car, flower, or whatever) talks about they can help you or what services they have. A column each issue on shipwrecks and their history. A column/page for the new residents on places to go for help and information.
  • we love the resturant ans all the local intrest
  • Water sports. We are uniquely situated at the confluence of Atlantic Ocean, Delaware Bay and home to several back bays. Topics like scuba diving, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, body boarding, skim boarding, ocean kayaking should be regular features.
  • Pictures with interviews of residents in the old as well as the new neighborhoods in coastal regions within 15 miles of the ocean. This would help the lookie-lews decide where to purchase a home. Which developement meets their lifestyle.
  • history of surfing, surfshops, and locals who made the sport happen here in delaware especially at Indian river inlet like bill wise..gary revel and others.
  • You do an excellent job at ferreting our stories I didn't even know existed - keep it up!
  • I realize the use of a page in the magazine is costly...I LOVE the pictures on the last page of the issue and often would like to frame it. But I do not want to destroy the issue by removing the picture. Perhaps there is a way to include the picture for possible removal without destroying the issue. Just a thought.I love each issue!
  • Doing a great job!
  • how to get a subscription if you only have an american express card
  • ...
  • A regular column on what it's like to be a year-round local.
  • Follow-up reviews of recent events in the Coastal area.
  • Include part time residents in some stories and cottage tours
  • Pick a Town; give its history; start along the coast; Then inward-- East, South and North to cover areas not along the Beaches, yet their "eyes" look towards the Beaches.
  • I would have to say - your magzine has great coverage on most seaside topics. You cover it all - keep up the great work! Thank you!
  • Nothing I can think of. It's perfect now!
  • I always enjoy the topics of history in Rehoboth. I guess you would call it "days gone by". I like seeing the cottages from the past and how they have been fixed up for us to see and enjoy.
  • would like to see a page for people looking for info on former residents in the area, questions about local things that used to be,etc
  • love it, especially the wonderful visual aspects w/the photos :)
  • Articles / Pictures on FOOD/BEVERAGES, HOUSING/TOURS and CALENDAR OF EVENTS interest us the most.
  • More stories about coastal marine life.
  • Just love the history and photos.
  • There are lots of places to find generic info on activities, dining, bars, etc. I like to see things that you don't find in other publications. More on classic locals (Like cat-man Joe, Dale Parsons, etc.) Historical, not often heard of stories of the people who grew up here. Less on people who moved here in the 2000's and built massive 2nd homes. What about the ones whose families have endured. Loved the article on the tiny towns.
  • I would like to see something featured, w/ old photos of various areas, of how things used to be and look.
  • I think it's great as is. I wouldn't want you to expand it too much out of the areas you cover.
  • Calendar of summertime activities.

  • This is a great magazine. Since I am a native Sussex Countian, I especially enjoy articles pertaining to our local history, i.e. Carey's Camp, Prince George's Chapel, history of local towns, etc. I recommend this magazine to all my friends!
  • Funland on the Boardwalk.
  • .
  • There should be a particular spotlight of business professionals.
  • More on old home restorations.
  • A story on the storm of 62 would be interesting with first hand accounts. Also articles on the new developments around the beach in Millsboro, Milton etc. or an article on each city over the coming months. What each has to offer?
  • Great, just way it is!
  • Maybe some local gardening tips to attract bees and other endangered species. Even seasonal residents can plant perennials that would increase pollination without the need to plant every year. This year I tilled up grass areas and planted a new garden will continue to do so each year. Many folks who don't live here year around don't realize that plants don't need to be salt tolerant except at the very edge of the ocean and bays. And perennial borders are so wonderful, too!
  • Your magazine is absolutely delightful. It encompasses all that I am interested in regarding our coastal region. I would like to see more stories/interviews on our "greatest generation"... our population of seniors and their life stories.
  • I love the articles about the outdoors.
  • I would like to see more about local authors, poets and their works and where they are available.
  • Local character of the commmunity - such as the great signs outside local churches. More in-depth articles on issues listed above.
  • Entertainment column - good music to look out for - not just a list.
  • You're doing a great job. I think you've covered all the bases!! As a new transplant to DE from NJ, Beach Life has helped me learn more about this wonderful area.
  • I believe that you've covered it with the list above.
  • I think the magazine is excellent. My husband and I have been coming to this part of Delaware for more than 40 years and it was our dream to retire here. That happened 4 years ago and we love the area. Your magazine describes everything we are interested in and is perferct in every way. Don't change a single thing!!!!
  • -Insight from newcombers to the area -businesses that are family owned making a difference in the area -going Green -planting with native plants -sustaining a garden in draught conditions -storm prepareness -local politicans going the extra mile -starting a"pass it on" campaign, ie doing a random act of kindess and pass it on-it should be a DE way of LIFE!!
  • I would like to see more information about where locals can get together.
  • Love the human interest
  • ART
  • Think you are doing an outstanding job!
  • Suggestion - Kid Section - Cape Henlopen Senior Staci Warrington, 17, of Milton - races Super Late Models every weekend at Delaware International Speedway -as a rookie this year, she also became the first female ever to win a feature event at the track - finished 5th in points for points race this season - www.delawareracing.com
  • Iread Beach Life cover to cover, so no matter what you add I will read. But I do love it very much now
  • I personally enjoy the articles on coastal history. Why not an article on how the beaches at Rehoboth gained their names? Another interesting article would be to take one building and list the various tentants over the years. This would be especially interesting in a building that has housed a string of restaurants over the years.
  • As a part-time resident of costal Delaware, I am a volunteer at the Hawk Watch at Cape Henlopen State Park each autumn counting migrating raptors as they pass overhead. The hawk watch count is accomplished nationally by volunteers each spring and fall at various spots in the USA located migration flyways. A few spots that get noticed more than others are Hawk Mountain in PA and the Hawk Watch in Cape May, NJ, located directly across the Delaware Bay from our station. I would like to see Beach Life magazine compile an article featuring our Hawk Watch. Sue Gruever of Lewes has manned this station which sits atop a WWII bunker in the park for the past 10 years. She is there despite the spring cold and winds and all throughout the fall beginning the day after Labor Day through Thanksgiving. We are fortunate to have a paid intern and accomplished birder, Forrest Rowland, at the Hawk Watch this season. Please take the time to investigate the positive work these folks are doing in their data collection of migrating raptors . . . dianejkane@gmail.com
  • Love stuff about shipwrecks, beach glass, & local shells.
  • Local jobs; employment issues.
  • More historical data on beach towns
  • Landscaping and/or gardening with plants that are indigenous to the Delaware shore...with articles on local nurseries, etc.
  • Similar to the Personality Profiles and Good Neighbors, consider doing a regular feature on our Local Small Businesses (ie. Sea Shell Shack, Jack Lingo Realtors, Various Restaurants, FunLand, etc etc ... the list goes on!) It would be interesting to know the history of these businesses, who's behind them, what's their history, etc.

  • perhaps plans for a beach cottage each issue
  • Perhaps consider a classified section pertaining to condos, homes, rentals....availability and cost.
  • I think your magazine is fabulous and couldn't ask for more.
  • i'm an outdoors person so all things outdoors at the beach and about the beachlife is a bonus!!
  • You have covered it all in Coastal Sussex. The hard part will be to maintain a fresh approach issue after issue to long standing topics such as the environment, real estate, development, etc. Good luck.
  • ...
  • really - it's done so very well!
  • All topics are covered that I enjoy! Great publication!
  • keep covering the same things!
  • more about local people, schools events
  • Love the magazine as is, no improvements necessary. Keep up the great work you do for DE.
  • MORE photos of little beach communities in the area. Older and present day photos. LESS stories about the opulent "cottages"! More about the smaller, more common "beach cottage".
  • Celebrate what is great about the Delaware Beach Life using pictures, articles, interviews, and insight into new significant developments. This might include articles on going to the beach, fishing, crabbing, boating, state parks, fun activities, restaurants (featured based on type of cuisine). Don't need timely coverage of local politics, crime, real estate, or other things typically covered in local weekly publications. Reader should be left feeling a sense pride in the Delaware Beach Life and excited about participating in various activities the lifestyle has to offer.
  • Interviews of local people
  • How about the coastal mayors
  • a 'looking for info' page
  • What effect has the giant dune in Rehoboth and south through S. Bethany had on residents and rental potential. After renting in S. Bethany for over 25 years we find it a deal breaker and have moved south to Fenwick Island. The dune in S. Bethany was so eroded by rain that only about six inches of flat surface remained to walk on.
  • Monthly section on road developments and changes; "Local's Corner" where you interview a local resident while he/she is patronizing a local business...you know...don't home stuff.
  • The Magizine is perfect but I would like to see more nature, animal & conservation articals.
  • How about more freelance people who visit the area from other locations and their views of the area?
  • Coastal Delaware's fishing charter boat, commercial, and recreational
  • Sports such as fishing, to include photos of catches, where they are biting, etc.
  • More by and about Terry Plowman, Photos too,he's quite a looker.
  • Indian River Marina State Park. Its a costal State Park and it not featured like some other State Parks. Great Place for vacationers to know about.
  • Other artisans besides just painters, Delaware is full of creative people. Such as photographers, jewelry makers, weavers, potters, etc. Would also like to articals on diffrent buisnesses and the people who run them along the beaches.
  • I think that there should be more topics involoving the vacationer's, my answers above reflect what I enjoy reading in the magazine. It keeps me connected to the coast.
  • I think it would be interesting if you did more articles on wildlife.
  • What kinds of things readers/residents can do to keep this are "green"
  • 1.Articles on medical topics. 2.Profile elected town officals in Rehoboth, Dewey and Lewes 3.I enjoy ALL the topics that you write on. I haven't not liked any of them. You have a GREAT publication!
  • Can't think of any at the moment. Really like what you're doing.
  • horoscopes....maybe science section,... pictures hubble have taking
  • You do a great job already. . . keep it up!
  • I would like to see more weather related stories. It is such a unique area and weather plays an important role in many of our lives. Maybe thow in some statistics on snowstorms, hailstorms, record rainfall, and how the ocean and bays affect our weather.
  • suggested one to terry after reading the poem about ed shockley - where are they now? (former schoolmates and local celebs)
  • I love the cover photos and photo essays--Kevin Fleming, of course. I would love to know how I could get a copy of the May, 2009, cover photo by Jack Mills!
  • I love the cover photos and photo essays--Kevin Fleming, of course. I would love to know how I could get a copy of the May, 2009, cover photo by Jack Mills!
  • An occasional article acknowledging the gay and lesbian population in Rehoboth and Lewes.
  • "TRANSPLANT" - 11 YEARS AGO - PERMANENT HOME HERE TOPICS TEACHING US THE AREA WE LIVE IN -MARINE LIFE - OCEAN - LIVED IN PA. - 55 YEARS WITH HILLS,MOUNTAINS,DEER, ETC. LOVE LEARNING SURROUNDINGS
  • I like it as it is. You do a great job.
  • How about famous celebrities who vacation here or who own homes here? Or articles dispelling rumors about same topic or other hot topics in the area.
  • i can not think of anything to add at this time
  • Histories of some old Sussex Co. families (families dating back to the mid-1800s and earlier) of the mid to eastern parts of the county. More about historic architecture. Never can read enough about local history! A focus on some earlier history (in addition to the existing more usual 20th century history coverage) would be nice. How about history of Beebe Hospital (if that's not already at some point been covered)? History of Kings Highway in and near Lewes? Of Five Points and/or Belltown? Local churches and cemeteries? I've only been a subscriber for a year, so don't know if you covered any of those topics prior to Summer '08, but don't believe I've seen coverage of them since I've been reading DBL - although I AM a VERY, VERY happy subscriber to your WONDERFUL magazine! :)

  • great the way it is!!
  • I don't live full-time in Delaware so I like to "catch-up" on new restaurants and bars. New (withhin last 6 mos?) local laws like "...no smoking in Bethany" etc. Statisticly, how are the coastal towns fairing against the broader economy.
  • Places to meet singles over 45
  • You are doing just fine!
  • Traffic problems!
  • map of the stars...who lives where celebrities photos at beach events
  • Maybe profiles on local retail business owners and what businesses are coming and going?
  • I would like to see a section that spotlights different state park programs throughout the year, like the living history program.
  • Possibly antiques associated with the Delaware area.
  • I continue to be most interested in the history of this area and surroundings, land and people and nature
  • Having begun my Delaware residency in one of the many manufactured home parks, I think more coverage of their unique situation would be good. Also, why not feature a manufactured home in one of your house spotlights...some of them are gorgeous and not everybody can live in million dollar houses along the beach.
  • I think that you do a superb job with the magazine...I love Delaware Beach Life. All of your efforts certainly meet up to my own personal expectations...I must say to the hilt. I will continue my subscription always. Unfortunately I have a major problem with the delivery process of the goods. For some mysterious reason I rarely receive the magazine in a timely process. It seems like Jo Shinholt has gone the extra mile to make sure I get the magazine and I am extremely grateful to her for doing that. And by the way, I have not received the Oct. issue as of yet. A friend of mine emailed me a recent article by Fay Jacobs in the Oct. issue. Would you be so kind as to re-evaluate the mystery of why it seems impossible to receive the magazine via USPO? Again my name is Ronda Miller, 20268 Fleming Circle, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Sincerely, Ronda Miller
  • You Cover them All - very good magazine
  • You're doing a great job.
  • Your magazine leaves nothing else that I could possibly think of reading about the area. It is a well rounded magazine that I totally enjoy from cover to cover!
  • Hiking and biking trails in the parks and surrounding areas. Every time I come down, there are many people enjoying these healthy activities and it would be nice to see more information.
  • You do an incredibly thorough job. Even if I'm not interested in the topic, I usually read the articles because they are well written. The photography is terrific--in the art articles I would like more pictures of the art rather than the artist.
  • There are a lot of communities/ homeowner assoc. in the area, what are they doing socially, etc for or by their members.
  • lesser known places to explore
  • Your magazine covers everything that is of interest! I cannot think of anything to add at this time!
  • You cover most news and local stories; can't think of anything else at this time.
  • You cover most news and local stories; can't think of anything else at this time.
  • I feel that there isn't any subject that is not covered in your issues through out the year.
  • Beach briefs and food oriented articles. Maybe add some how to stuff
  • Articles about restaurants are good rather than the listings of restaurants. How about an article about reassessment in Rehoboth, how about an article about some of the original homes in Rehoboth (down on Queen Street or in Henlopen Acres?), interviews with more chefs, the farmer's markets, the origins of "Airport Road" outside of Rehoboth, fundraisers for the Rehoboth Beach Museum, origins of Blessing of the Fleet, origins of the historical complex in Lewes and the craft show there, when the Rehoboth-Lewes canal was built. Want more ideas?
  • You're doing very well. I can't think of any category that you've missed.
  • A series on the people, history, organization, successes & failures, and future plans of each major unincorporated community in the County.
  • Local sports

  • Since it's only the second <Beach> Magazine have seen, I love it because really have no mental comparison of your previous editions. Be assured will be at the Millsboro Library to view their previous ones to view, to hasten my becoming a true costal resident.
  • Keep up the good work. Nice magazine but don't rely on the same writers and photogs all of the time.

  • Your content overshadows the image. Less wildlife on the cover though, enough birds.
  • I absolutely LOVE your photography - your contributors do a fantastic job.

  • I am a graphic designer - the design is boring
  • The beautiful picture on the cover each month just makes you want to pick the magazine up and read it from cover to cover.
  • Its the highlight of my day when I happen to pick up my Mom's mail and the latest issue is in her mailbox (a gift to her from me when she first moved to DE from MD and started the family DE migration). I love that its monthly vs quarterly. winter was too long waiting for the summer issue! We now share the subscription so as to save a tree. You will hear from me, I have a picture to send you. All past issues reside in our main guest room so our guests can enjoy these timeless magazines, really more then a magazine, its a way of LIFE for us in print and pictures!!! Confirming why we built our retirement home in the Lewes Area. Keep us smiling and keep up the GREAT WORK!!! Many thanks for entertaining and keeping us informed. Donna L. West *8-)

  • thank you for a great magazine!
  • See my previous comments. Keep up the great work .. I look forward to every issue I read and am happy to finally become a subscriber!
  • I have every issue from #1,read cover to cover but last issue looked just like the rest to me. Keep up the good work, love my Delaware Beach Life. Thank you Sarah
  • change is good
  • DBL is one of the best graphically designed magazines anywhere. Period.

  • the magazine is just spectacular. We devour every issue- the content, photos and presentation make it one of the few magazines we really look forward to and if we miss an issue, we miss it!
  • I look forward to each issue!
  • I have found Delaware Beach Life to be very refreshing publication and completely enjoy reading each edition
  • It's almost Feb 1. and I just checked the mailbox to see if the Jan/Feb issue had arrived. I am going thru withdrawal. I will pay more for that extra winter issue, since we love the photos and stories and come down most weekends in the winter. I am sure you would find that extra ad revenue would help. We plan to retire here and more and more this is becoming a full time resort area.
  • First issue I saw was May and fell in love with it so keep up with the good work
  • Look and feel excellent. Editorially, it seemed a bit long on history and art. More mainstream activities would be appreciated.

  • The new binding on the magazine isn't as beefier to look at but it is easier to hold and read. I think that the overall look is pleasant but the real proof is always in its contents. Thanks.

  • I still love it, read it, and look forward to each issue--but for reasons I am unable to explain, I preferred the old design--somehow the old design set Delaware Beach Life apart from other magazines.

  • KEEP UP YOUR GREAT WORK WITH YOUR MAGAZINE!!
  • I thought you lost some of its "slickness" with the redesign. What I didn't particularly like was your magazine now being "stiched" instead of bound. I love the overall design and readability of your magazine, just thought the staples cheapened the overall look and quality. But I am sure that was done as a cost-savings measure. And who wouldn't want to save money in this still-struggling economy.
  • I actually don't spend hardly any time in the coastal area, since I live in Western Sussex Co. (in Seaford), and mainly just enjoy reading your magazine as I so relate to the area, as I have deep roots in Lewes (my Wilson and Palmer ancestors settled there during the 1860s) and thereabouts. That's why I answered that I don't patronize your advertisers. But, if I WERE in the coastal area, I definitely would patronize them.

  • Love it!
  • Love the magazine! We can only make it to Delaware for 1 week a year. I look forward to our visit all year long, but the magazine with its glorious pictures make me feel like I visit every month. Thanks for the virtual vacation for us land-locked folks.
  • I did not start reading Beach Life until Summer 2008 so I cannot compare the current design to the previous one. I do very much like the current design, it's very "reader friendly".
  • It seemed like a stripped down version of the old format, a sort of "Beach Life lite".
  • The changes were obvious at first. Seemed to make it a hard read, smaller print? Guess I have gotten used to it.
  • Very classy!!
  • I love your magazine..whenever we visit our friend, about every other month it seems, (who subscribe) I read your magazine from front to back..thinking of subscribing myself and we are in Northern Baltimore County.
  • My husband and I plan to retire in the Milton/Georgetown/Lewes triangle. I read Delaware Beach life to learn more about the area. Please contact me regarding a subscription.
  • You switched to a stapled cover. Prefer the old square binded cover.
  • Love your magazine. Have every issue since the very first one. Keep up the good work!
  • I can't remember the old one. I think I liked the changes, but I don't remember why. I think the cover on the current issue was stunning. Can I get a t-shirt now?
  • The magazine always looked great, so I didn't notice the changes. Sorry.
  • I read from cover to cover, every page, every issue not matter what the topic.
  • It is designed with an interesting lay out and easy to read from cover to cover!
  • I love your magazine. In fact I not only subscribe to it but give it as a Christmas present to two of my dear friends.
  • I like the look of the magazine before...I still like it now. If anything I liked the old look slightly better. But...as long as the look is good, which it has been as long as I've subscribed, it's the great content that really counts.
