Surprised to see some early fall colors in mid-August, I took a late-afternoon walk with some camera club friends at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. While walking along the beautiful Turkle Pond access road, we saw a walkway along a canal that led to Fleetwood Pond. As we strolled down the walkway, the breathtaking light from the late-day sun opened up the colors of the beautiful pond and all the foliage. The windless afternoon provided reflections that doubled the beauty of the trees and the sky and the clouds that hung low above the horizon. The peaceful image in front of us was hard to leave that day. It was one that we will always remember.
