Turtle Train

One of my favorite things to see when I’m out paddling is sunbathing turtles perched on logs, rocks and downed trees in the water. I took this photo at Trap Pond on a warm and sunny day, and the turtles were out in full force catching rays. Usually when I approach, they drop one by one into the water, avoiding any close contact with a pesky human. But on this day, this laid-back group, lined up in a perfect “turtle train,” did not move and I was able to capture them in all their relaxed, sunbathing glory.
